I got a whit pine!

<< < (4/4)

Leo in NE Illinois:
Autumn is when the older needles do naturally die and fall off. Needles on a pine only last so many years, species specific, I think JWP holds needles up to about 3 years, then they naturally die off. It the tree is kept too shady, 2 year needles will drop. If they are too wet you can loose needles. As long as it is the oldest needles, it is not an issue. The yellowing needles should be cleaned out before winter to keep good air flow and allow more light into the tree. If the newest needles start yellowing, you have a problem beyond natural needle drop.

I will have to cut the tree since the break i mentioned earlier in the thread is not healing and bleeding. Plus it is draining the energy from the bottom branches.
