MONSTER FIG - Baby ben
« on: June 28, 2010, 06:01 AM »
hi guys :)

this is a baby ben fig, it was collected from a planter from the outside area in a pub/bar. it is quite large which is not what i usually go for, im a shohin man but this one was one i couldnt pass the oppurtunity to get :) especially for the price.. free :) :)

it is 2 foot across the nebari, and stands over 3 foot tall at the moment, it will be getting taken down by at least half to where the taper turns straight. i have placed thread grafts from the top area as that is where all the branching was. there are 5 grafts that should only take maybe 6 months to thicken and fuse in :)

i will also put a virt up to show you my plan i will be going for a banyan style with it.

sorry bout a couple of the pics re. glare, i cant move this tree by myself and where it is is where it stays till i can get my cousins round to help move it. it is planted in an old fire pit as it was the only thing i had big enough at the time.

jamie :)
