Good Morning All,
On June 9th I restyled a shohin burtt davyi ficus with my teacher and aggressively pruned it back to increase ramification. We'll as you know extreme heat has hit the midwest. Here in St. Louis beginning last wednesday we have seen triple digit temperatures. Wednesday 100, Thursday 108, Friday 106 today 104 tomorrow 103 Monday 101 and then the upper 90s for the rest of the week. Needless to say my small African beauty is thriving in this warm weather and the back budding and leafing is popping like crazy.
Watering 2-3 times a day on my shohin benches and everything is looking great even with the extreme heat. The JBP that were decandled have all bud back and have begun to push as well. The shaded shohin japanese maples have even done well and are holding their leaves with out any burn. Life is good!
Hope everyone else is doing well.
