Desert Rose Propagation
« on: April 27, 2014, 12:43 AM »
I have a desert rose that is getting a little leggy and I'd like take some cuttings and try rooting them.  I was wondering if you treat desert rose like jades and let them callous before planting?  I assume that you should, but thought I'd ask before I attempt it this summer.  Any other suggestions on how to successfully propagate these from cuttings would be appreciated.

You're right to let your desert rose cuttings callous.
Touch them a bit with rooting hormone, use a fast soil and you should be good.

Best, Joanna

I just dry them for 2 weeks in  the shade and plant in coarse sand.
