Hi Don....

Many years ago I acquired some small ficus in South Florida that were started as cuttings from the Cloud. I put 3 of these plants together. Here is a photo from last summer after I re-potted. I need to set up my background and take some new photos.

Best Always

Gary

Hi Jerry....

Yes, the bases are all fused. The photo was taken after re-potting and the soil is mounded up on the base because of some cuts that were made that I didn't want to dry out. I'm now working on the root base by eliminating all roots directly under the base and working with lateral roots. You know the drill.

Best Always My Friend

Gary

Dustin,
Fantastic Gardens themselves had no bonsai only landscape plants. Their bonsai collection was actually just an area fenced off in which Joe Samuels was allowed to keep his own personal bonsai collection - as he lived in an apartment and had no place of his own to keep bonsai.
Fantastic Gardens did not find the F. salicaria as they were all Joe's. I tried for years to buy some of the smaller bonsai but Fantastic Gardens would not "sell" them to me nor would they tell me why.(Since they did not own them!). It was only years later that I met Joe there and he sold me some trees from his collection.
Gary, how about a better close up of your tree after you get done tuning it up?
Dorothy, great to hear from you and I do love Ernie's root-over-rock. One of the best done with this species.
How about showing one of your own!

Thanks Jerry. My Nerifolias are all in "chop mode". But I am going to post some rootwork we did in Boon's Intesive on one of them in a separate thread.
