Bouganvillea - just for fun
« on: January 02, 2015, 12:35 PM »
This bouganvillea was a cutting I stuck in this 2 x 2 x 8 inch tall pot back in the spring of 2012. The thought was to eventually expose the roots. It has roots coming out the bottom of the pot, so I think in time this pot will do the job. I did this more as just goofing around, Had this pot I liked, and wanted to put something in it, didn't really care what, just so I could see the pot  in use. It worked out better than I thought it would. I know nothing of the history of the pot, I picked the pot up sometime around 1992.

Thoughts appreciated as to what to do with the tree.

This bougie lives year round in my basement light garden. It is under a 4 lamp, T5 fixture, 48 inch bulbs that are high output 6700K. I use an 18 hour day length all year round. It has bloomed twice for me in 2014, April and December. I am in the habit of letting it grow out, then doing a hard pruning after each bloom cycle.

I apologize for the flash photography, I broke my tripod and haven't fixed it yet.
