Before and After Fukien Tea
« on: July 12, 2014, 12:22 PM »
About three months ago I received this Fukien Tea. The tree was I'll with a fungal infection. It was recovering but the person who was looking after it could not get it the time and care it needed so it was offered to me. While the tree was with me I let it fully recover. Shortly after I noticed that it had potential to become a cascade. I removed most of the top which reserved the taper, applied wire and exposed the base. Here are pictures of my work.

I would love to see that top come off and you make this work.!

The wire looks very well executed. Super clean twists.

Definitely bringing the engineering.

You remind me of a kid on my sons baseball team who was a shaky rookie last year, hitting 1 for 4 all to opposite field. He just broke a 7 up streak with a sacrifice. More than half pulled strong like that guy wire.

I call him Mr. Clutch now!

Very nice work. Very impressive improvement. You have set your bar high!

Nice, coming along well. In a year or two it could go into a cascade or semi-cascade pot.
