Shohin Root Over Rock Trident
« on: July 07, 2014, 01:32 AM »
At the January Intensive, I bought this little root over rock trident from Boon, and hand carried it back home on the plane. Sorry,I don't have a pic, but the buds were just emerging. We were still having winter at home, so I usually brought it in at night.

The first pic is April, 2014. Really hadn't had to do much to it.

The second pic was taken of my display at the Atlanta Bonsai Society show in mid May. I had trimmed it back a little for the show.

Since then, I've defoliated it twice. The third pic was taken yesterday and is after the second defoliation.

Nice looking trident.  I like the pot, but I like green so I'm biased.

Maybe it's me, but does anyone else see a human hugging the rock in this image?  I am wondering if it's intentional?
It's a neat little tree, but that is really the prevalent image my eye sees.

Oh, it definitely hugs the rock!

The other side is interesting, too. More rock, but the tree appears to peep at you from behind. I'll try to get a pic later today.

Cool tree Adair, I Like that it is kind of an unusual style.
You need a good conifer shohin to go w/ it on your display rack :)

Thanks, Jason.

I really wanted this JBP to be the top tree, but the pot makes it too tall for that stand.

So I had to display it on its own.

It is a "top of the rack" tree.
