Root Over Rock Trident

got it in 2002.  and sold it.  still take care of it. 
we still plan to make it better.  that is fun part about bonsai

this year, it was partially defoliate 3 times and total defoliate once.  it grow very stong this year.

I like the current height much more.  And it looks a lot better with shortened branches.

update it is perfect time to work on it.  it is not pinched like japanese maple..  let it grow and elongate before working.  trim long shoots and remove big leaves

I love the molded roots to this stone. Very well done and progress will only make it better.

The only hangup I have with this tree is the disks of branches going up the tree. I see concentric rings of branches like stacked washers of graduating size on a bolt. Even in leaf I still pick that up. Any plan for a future restructure on the branches or just go with it as is?
