Here is an Ogata sized (>18") Ashe Juniper that was collected in the 70's by John Miller of Texas fame. I purchased the tree in 2007 from the Dallas Bonsai CLub after it had been styled as a slant by Marc Noelanders. Mike Hagedorn styled this tree in 2008 and  made it a much more vertical tree. The tree was restyled by Peter Tea a young professional from California who studies with Boon (started by completing the Bonsai Intensive Series that Boon teaches) and is getting ready to go to Japan for an apprenticeship. This tree was discussed under the North American Native Junipers section.

This tree will be shown in the BIB show in January, it will be repotted in mid-month and if done in time, I will post an updated photo of a repotted and mossed tree that represents the fine work of Peter and Mike.
