White pine rework
« on: March 28, 2013, 08:30 PM »
Hello all. I bought this tree last year. Originally supposed to be a cascade, not a good one at all though. Removing a couple of big branches, making the side the front and a tllt created the possibility of a nice shohin.

The first pic is the tree as purchased and the work done. The big branches were removed in 2 stages. The first are in red, the second ones in yellow. The tree should be ready for a bonsai pot this season.

Thanks for looking.

Rob

What a powerful little tree!  Very well done.  How long did you study this tree before you had this plan?

Thanks Dirk

Thanks bwaynef..When I picked it up at  the nursery. I just happed to rotate the tree. As soon as I saw the tree from the side, I had the plan in my head. However, although the rough image came to me right away, when I got in there yesterday, there was some different branch choices that needed to be done differently than what I thought.
