Spent 5 hours with my son and David Kreutz at Satsuki Bonsai-en doing spring maintenance on our shohin satsuki. Here are some examples of a few of our shohin satsuki.

Very nice!  What is the soil make-up and age?

All of my son's and my satsuki are in kanuma and topped with a thin layer of grated moss. We like yamagoki but sphagnum works as well. Not sure of age but I'd guess 10 years or less.

Thanks, JRob.  Did you get your tree from Dave?

All of the satsuma my son and I have are from Dave at Satsuki Bonsai-en. My son spent a summer studying with him.
