Fish Grab All the attention
« on: September 02, 2012, 06:15 AM »
Good Morning All,

The rain dampened the attendance during the 1st day of the Missouri Botanical Garden's Japanese Festival yesterday and rain is forecasted for all day today. Thanks Isaac. This is the venue for our clubs main show. The festival requires the headliners in all demonstrations be of japanese descent and for years we have alternated yearly between Roy Nagatoshi and Lindsey Shiba. Shiba is in town this year and the club's officers had a wonderful evening with him last night after the show festival closed. One of my shohin - a Japanese Maple that I babied through the heat took the shohin ribbon. But from the general public perspective it was not my trees that gathered all the attention but the miniature fish in my display. Bronze and only 1/2 inch or less they generated a lot of interest. Here is a picture.

Here is a poor picture of the display. I'll try to get a better one tomorrow.
