My first BIG juni
« on: June 14, 2010, 12:24 PM »
Even though I told myself I wasn't going to buy a tree last weekend, I couldn't pass up what I thought was a good deal.  This tree should provide me with a good bit of practice over the coming years, and I look forward to the experience.  I had to remove all but the largest wire when I got home, as it was biting in pretty good in some areas. I'm not too concerned about the wire scars, as this is a "practice tree" and should still prove very useful for that purpose.

p.s. not sure of the variety.

Looks good.  If you don't mind me asking, which vendor had these?

Thanks Juan.

I told the other forum they have to wait, but i like you guys for some strange reason.  This is what I found in the material. (not the final angle, but best to take a picture for right now)  On Saturday, I'm taking it to a workshop with Ted Matson, and hopefully we can  start to bring out the best in this tree.

Well, this is as far as i got today.  It still needs a lot of work.  Oh yeah, I hate junipers, the prickly sons o' guns.

Ok,got this Repotted over the weekend.  Did a bit of pruning.  The upper right hand needs some growth so I can Chase it back. Right now I just want it to grow and be healthy.  One step at a time.

Nice!  These things really develop quite quickly. I look forward to seeing pics a couple of times each year...

Very nice work Dave.  I think you can take it out of the "practice" category now :D
