Title: BVF tall Itoigawa
Post by: Brian Van Fleet on May 04, 2014, 02:44 PM
Here's another one, an Itoigawa I bought from Don in December.  Freshly repotted into a current generation Yamaaki, getting bushy and bulking up before a haircut.

I too am eager to see this one's transformation!  It looks like a great piece that'll surely be made better.  What's going on with that middle live vein?

If you are referring to the cut paste, I removed a branch from that spot.  For some reason, it had been included in the design when Marco Invernizzi styled it back in 2010 when it was owned by a guy in OK (see attached photo).  I thought it was terribly disruptive to the trunk, so I took it out.

Apparently not...I think I made it about 10 days before I couldn't stand it anymore!
