Title: Old Japanese Maple
Post by: John Kirby on February 23, 2014, 08:26 PM
This is another old Jspanese Maple that we are working to develop and refine. Old treebecause of bark color and the verticle striations in the bark, tree has small leaves  and ghe roots are developing nicely. Is a large tree, over 24" tall.

Interesting tree for sure, I'd love to see more angles.  What have you got planned for it, any major changes?

Old tree, not as strong as I would like. Work was limited to reducing leaf numbers from two to one per tip to stimulate budding. Will see how it responds. No wire this times.
