Title: japanese maple from this week workshops

the owner bought this tree after it was placed on the rock 3 years ago.  we bare root and then tied it tightly to the rock repot and and let it grow in the training box.  it is time to take the leaves off and cut back. 

it is kiyohime

this one is sankokaku.-coral bark
we airlayered it 4 years ago.  the root is rearranged and grow in the growing pot for a year.  2 years ago we took it our and rearranged the roots and let it grow in the growing box.  time to cut back

Boon, was it hard to air layer the coral bark maple?  Did it take any extra time compared to a JM?
