Here are a couple of JBP cascades that I have that reside out at Boon's. These trees were once owned by Boon, sold and hen floated around the bonsai comunity. They wen fro being show trees to rather weak trees. My friend Peter Tea purchased them, got them stronger and then sold them to me. The first tree has really popped ak after repotting, decandling, a workshop with Akio Kondo and now is ready for decandling again. W cut one of the three roots in the front of the pot and are working towards having the tree moved well towards the center of the pot and a steeper cascade within 3 years. Pictureas are before and after decanling.
The second tree was a Boon tree and was in early BIB shows and was a members choice award winner. It was sold and fell on hard times, it is gaining strength, was lightly decandled and should be back in form within a couple of years. The pictures are before and after work.th
Both of these trees are imports and are very old, the deadwood is natural and interesting. Guess this just shows that regular and thoughtful care is required, and that a tree that has fallen in to neglect is more than worthy of the cre it takes to make them whole again.
Cheers,
John
