Title: Grwoing JBP in the ground?

okay so im thinking about growing 2 of my JBP in the ground along with 2 of my Maples...my question is...
1. when should this be done?
2. and what type of soil should i use? for JBP and Maple...

i have starter JBP and want to grow 2 of them to help thicken up the trunk and give it some highth....


and another question, in this pic there is 4 of these candles on my JBP that isnt opening but the others are....is this Normal? what should i do??

It really depends on what you want to achieve if you ask what you should do. Do  you want to shorten the needles or you want to develop a branch? It is normal that not all candles develop at the same time.
