Title: Exceeded expectations
Post by: bwaynef on December 29, 2011, 04:55 PM
Not that this is really the pinnacle, but it exceeded the expectations I had for it when I started.  That's my excuse for not taking a before picture.

This tree was barely able to sit upright in the pot.  Now, due to the rebar leaning that way its still not AS stable as I'd hope for, but considerably more upright.

Yep I know exactly which tree this is. "The heavy leaner". Glad you could make something of this one. I probably have a pic of it like it was but not 100% sure.

After the picture, I tweaked the bend at the top a little more and adjusted the "apex".  Its noticeably "bendier" than in the pic.

Nicely done Wayne, from the raffia job to the final product!  Please post a pic of it now that the bending's complete? ;)

And, btw, did you jam the rebar all the way to the bottom of the pot?  Just curious.
Thanks
Chris

Wayne,

I'd say nice movement, a pity though you don't have a 'before' picture.
Since I've seen sites like the bonsaiblog of Walter Pall (http://walter-pall-bonsai.blogspot.com/ (http://walter-pall-bonsai.blogspot.com/)) I allways try to make a before picture.
