candle pinching (not decandle)

it is partially break or cut strong candle to help strengthen weak buds.

this tree grow from seed in the US.  we grafted new branches clsoe to the trunk and get rid of sacrificial branches.  it started training about 12 years ago.

It is great to learn WHY we do certain techniques on JBP.

Good to see a really nice pine like that grown from seed in the west.
