Bonsai Auction Cork Bark JBP
« on: June 02, 2012, 09:32 PM »
Hello All,

Thought I'd post a few pics of one of the trees I got at our clubs annual auction.
This ones a cork bark JBP, it needs some wiring/styling but is back budding well and has some potential I think.
Also piicked up a nice ponderosa today :)
Got em both for $400 ;D

Congrats on your new tree, and thanks for your support! It was a fun day as always. We certainly lucked out on the weather.

Best regards,

Thanks, it is my understanding that they are usually less vigorous than the non cork varieties. Other than that I don't know a whole lot about the different varieties and characteristics of cork bark pines.
I did a little wiring to open it up a bit, but saving the full wiring and styling for a study group that I have w/ a teacher.

Thanks Bob! that is a great article, very cool. I have another cork bark BP so doubly cool to have that info.

Thanks Dick, I'm looking forward to wiring it all out. It has been neglected for a while but looks like it could turn out pretty nice w/ some time.
