Thanks Boon.

Dave, good eye!  Several of the primary and secondary branches are grafts.  More grafts are needed, particularly on the branch you've pointed out.  A graft here will improve the rather long, straight, taper-less branch.

Very nice material, but there is no way for us to tell how big it is without the proper Japanese Measuring Device. I'd like to see that shot.

I love what you've done with it so far.

The lower right limb is quite straight, and there are a couple of ways to fix it, or I should say many ways. It could be disguised with foliage in the future, or it could be worked heavily to induce bends, or it could be replaced with adventitious buds or grafted buds. At any rate, there's still time to do any of those.

Doing well. Fall cleanup was done a week or two ago. I'll try to get some updated pictures posted. Been too busy with a new job.

Very nice.  It can only get better as time goes on.  The thickness and movement in the trunk I like.

Beautiful tree Matsu.  How long did it take for the grafts to take?  I'd never had known those were grafts.  Nice job.

Only a few of the grafts are mine.  More will be added this spring.

I typically add them in late February or early March using the bag method.  Shade them during July and August, cut a hole in September, remove the bag in late October or early November, and remove the tape the following spring.  Timing really depends on how well they grow and what the weather is like throughout the growing season.

I was able to squeeze some bonsai work in a few weeks ago.

Here's a quick cell shot taken before decandling.  Sorry about the background.  My backdrop (poster board) wasn't quite large enough.  :)

About 4 weeks after decandling.  This one will be rewired in fall.
