Winter is on its way
« on: October 06, 2011, 08:48 AM »
Just a short note to remind others that winter is on its way. This morning I awoke to 29 degrees F outside. It was expected and it will be about that tonight again. To those in the north hopefully you have started you plans for over wintering your trees. And for those in the warmer parts of the globe.... keep growing.

Wow, sorry to hear about the cold weather so soon.  It's a nice 70ish highs and mid 50's low here so far.  Though the nightly news last night said Chicago is expected to have the coldest winter this year nationwide and an expected 58" of snow.   Like John said, "how long till spring?"  ;)

Not much different here in CNY. Scraped the windshield before work this morning. So glad my Mini Cooper has heated seats.  ;D

7-8 years ago, when I was living in SE MA, a hard frost the second week of May killed every leaf on a 35' tall mulberry tree in my backyard...I think it fell into the low 20's F that night.  Last year, I had my tomatoes planted out the last week of March ;D.

(most folks say you should wait until mid April here)
