I saw that on their eBay shop for months. I seriously can't believe you bought it, John. I kept threatening my girlfriend that I was going to purchase it for the garden(she loathes raccoons). That thing's boobs are pretty realistic if I remember the listing. The whole thing is slightly creepy.

This is quite funny John.
Me and my wife were in Japan in the spring of this year and it was wonderful. After a few weeks I had seen yaki everywhere. Hard to find to buy. Anyway found one brought him home with big balls and all and there he sits in our entrance garden, what a beauty.
Thanks John

I only have the less endowed female Tanuki at the moment.  There's a city east of Kyoto where almost all of them are made.  I'll dig up some photos.  That's a nice albino one  :).

:D  I watched "Raccoon Nation". I saw how raccoons devastate the ancient temples in Japan.

Please explain.

First i thought it was a turkey. Why the sombreros?  And more just a plain old wtf?

NYC is jealous over how those Balls Dropped!

My wife would let me keep a real raccoon in the house before looking at that scary ass little
Mexican Turkey Flasher! Just look at that little root over rocks!

Owen,

I have looked for one for a long time, this one is a Shigeraki made piece, fun will end up by a bonsai bench. Is a lot bigger than I expected.

That is too funny  ;D.  I've done some stupid stuff in Japan but that took some real effort to stage....

After a multiple year and exhaustive search, this one won in Kyoto.  In Shigaraki City, there is a building that looks like a Tanuki but haven't been yet.

It would be hard to ship that one back. No EMS for sure.

This is my favorite no matter the endowment at Daisen-in Temple in Kyoto.  It is a robed one that has an evil face and a hood.  The older ones have tusks coming from their lower jaw.

Oh, and above the Tanuki it says "Beware of wolves in monk's robes".  I love Zen Buddhism.

Ever see studio ghibli's Pom Poko? The main characters are tanuki, if you like the lore you would probably like the movie, all ghibli movies are fantastic....
