Welcome to the Bonsai Study Group
« on: June 13, 2009, 06:17 PM »

Welcome to the all new Bonsai Study Group forum.  We welcome all to join and contribute to the community.

The Bonsai Study Group is a forum dedicated specifically to the advancement of bonsai trees and the individual's skills.  We look for the community to contribute well thought out and constructive posts on any topic, as it relates to bonsai.

With a variety of general and specific categories we hope to provide a wealth of information contributed by the bonsai community.  Feel free to contribute your experiences and ask specific questions to grow your own knowledge.  Members should do their best to contribute in such a way as to keep the discussions positive and informative.  It should also be kept in mind that often there are a variety of "right" answers given a person's location and requirements.  Any discussions not related directly with bonsai are encouraged to use the BSG Chat room at .

We encourage you to fill out your profile information, including your location.  This will be viewable to members that are logged in and will help others as they learn proper care in differing climates.  Also, don't forget to add your USDA Plant Hardiness Zone to your location.

If you have images to share with your post we ask that you upload them here. Ideally we want users to upload their photos here for discussion, as often external links and embedded photos become broken as images and other files are removed or URLs change.  Additionally, images posted here are hidden from guests, encouraging visitors to register for the site and contribute to the community.  You can still embed uploaded images within your post using Bulletin Board Code and the uploaded image URL.  If you need a reference please visit the help section of this site. If you need further assistance please feel free to post your question to the forum feedback section.

Special Forums

From time to time we will be adding forum topics and categories that may only be available to those that have contributed to the community in a significant way.  This may be in the form of answers, questions, or other informative posts.

In our efforts to show respect for our advanced members, we have created an area for discussion of Advanced Techniques.  This area is accessible by our members that have 50 posts or more in an effort to provide our members with an area to discuss some of the more advanced topics.

Forum Rules

Please be respectful of the forum rules.  You will have to accept them before your account can be created.  We hope that it will not be necessary, but should these rules be violated the forum administrators and moderators have been asked to regulate the community.  In regards to forum posts it may be necessary for an administrator to move a topic, lock a topic, or outright delete a topic. Members that stray from the agreement may receive a Private Message, a Stern Warning, a Temporary Ban, or a Permanent Ban.  Naturally, the administrators hope to resolve any potential problem with the least amount of effort or consequence.

Forum Suggestions

If you have a question, comment, or concern please feel free to post it in the Forum Feedback section.  A forum Moderator or Administrator will be happy to assist you in any way that we can.
