Title: they growem big
Post by: King Kong on September 06, 2009, 10:55 AM
I think that's a word (growem). Anyway, in the land of constant precipitation some trees can actually get too big. What is it?

Growing, right word

I think growem is a concatenation of the already shortened "Grow 'em".  Substituting "growing" in this case makes less sense than the phonetically sensible growem.

Your secret code seems to be missing a character so the best I was able to deduce from it was that the tree is a Ficus neri_olia but since Joe Samuels (http://www.artofbonsai.org/galleries/samuels.php)' "The Cloud" was deemed worthy enough to be named,  I'm sure this tree is one of its progeny that got planted into the ground and left to grow, as most Ficus n. in this country are said to have come from it.

Concatenate....do we have an English teacher on board?
Yes, this ficus nerifolia would have come from the same nursery that Mr. Samuels discovered his first plant. This tree was planted as a pup in a rather high end landscape and pond area and was taken very good care of for years.
Very good bwayne...oops left out the f again.
