Hey Dirk, why not start a thread about your tree, and I can't see the pics either...

Very nice Dirk

I definitely like and believe that it has huge potential.

Definitely start a thread on this tree and keep us updated.

i'm guilty of lurking. I read all the forums. I usually only reply when I'm avoiding some odious mundane task, like cleaning the bathroom, or I am working.

Lately have been busy with a new non-bonsai project/investment.

So lack of posts doesn't mean ''don't care''.

Owen - about the quince, my tastes says those exposed roots look ugly and make the tree look unstable. Wouln't you want to plant deeper in the pot?

Leo, thanks for your comment.  I too feel it is potted too high; got the quince last November and didn't get to repotting it.  My plan is to drop it about an inch or two.  It's also currently in pure Turface.  The whole thing may be layered off in a year or so if I keep it.
