Learning on Boxwood- 2nd tree
« on: May 10, 2012, 09:19 PM »
Hello everybody, tackled my second boxwood, looked for one trunk line on this one. Still need to wire, gonna let him recover a bit and grow. Does the whole top crown need to come off? Thought I'd leave it on and ask you guys, but I'm thinking the top 3 inches probably should go, or at least one side of it. I think one side or the other of the bottom branches needs to come off, and from there I need to see how he fills in. Appreciate the experience and knowledge shared here. Shots here of the before and after.

You're getting the hang of it!

Try not to have two branches come off the trunk at the same level.

Also try to have the internodes (the distance between branches) become shorter as you move up the trunk towards the apex.

Looks like you're having fun!
