larch forest
« on: April 17, 2012, 08:18 PM »
Hello,
Thought I'd share a few pics of a forest planting I put together this year. I got these larches for $5 a piece so seemed like a good opertunity to try a forest.
We'll see how it develops :) it was a fun project though, my first attempt at a forest planting.

just a few suggestions for improvement.  Your main tree looks to be pretty much right in the middle of the pot.  It would look better to have it more to the left or the right.  Also, the roots of that tree are pretty bad.  If you can fix them or hide them you might want to think about picking a different tree for the main tree of the planting.

Thanks Bob,
Plan on working on the branches a bit this year and probably reassess the composition over the winter.

also, the trees are all almost exactly the same distance apart - visually - at this angle.  It would be better if some trees were closer and some farther.
