I wanted to make my first post and say hello to everyone. I am new to bonsai and I look forward to learning from all of you.

Joshua,
Greetings and welcome to the forum. Although you mention you are from central Texas in your first post  please  fill in your Profile. After a while your first post will be hard to find.

Don't worry no one is coming by and you don't need to be to specific. 1st go to the Profile section above and click, in the new window that opens click on the  'forum profile information' under the 'modify profile' on the left. Then in that new window fill in as much as you like but please fill in your location. If you don't wish to be specific like Jeffersonville Vermont. You can say Northern Vermont or central Texas.

It just makes it easier to know where a question is coming from or where your thoughts are. I'm sure my conditions in Northern Vermont USDA grow zone 3B is going to yield different advice and results than someone in central Texas.

my 2 cents
Jay

Hello Joe.
I am glad to meet folks in and around my area. I am sure you have great knowledge of how trees grow in the extreme Texas environment.

Welcome, Joshua!!! Please try at all costs to avoid driving down the road with your eyes on the fencerow looking for likely candidates. It is second only to texting while driving for danger.  :D

Seriously, welcome to the art and welcome to the forum. We look forward to hearing more from you.
