Hello
« on: August 25, 2014, 03:20 PM »
Just wanted to say hey.  Im new here and fairly new(ish) to bonsai in general. Luckily Wayne has a study group near where I live so I'm hoping to learn without too many dead trees =) anyways here's a spruce that I recently worked on, it started out as more of a shrub... Roy

Welcome Roy.

That (ish) part has made for excellent placement of initial branching!

Nice start.

As I mentioned, I have no experience with Spruce of any sort.  Anybody care to give any care tips?

The only thing I know about spruce is that it takes a lot longer for branches to hold their wired position, like sometimes over a year. They are very springy.

Bonsai4me has good spruce info.

Walter Pall has excellent Spruces but I don't know if he has written much on the care.

I killed 2 seedlings. ;D
