Title: Grafting Cork Bark Oak
Post by: Don Dunn on April 25, 2014, 02:53 AM
I wonder if anyone has input on grafting a Cork Bark Oak? I have a tree that desperately needs a couple of branches added to it's trunk. I would like to do a needle graft in a couple locations but I have never done one on a Cork Bark. I have done a few on my  Maples and I think that I could do it on my Cork Bark in the spring as the buds just begin to swell. I thought about doing an approach graft but with that thick bark I just do not know if it will take.  Any one got experience in this or have any thoughts?
