« on: November 06, 2010, 02:25 AM »
This year the GSBF convention was held in Santa Clara. (Northern California)
I was honored to set up the tree display area.

Here is a link to check out the pictures on BonsaiTonight.com

A lot of people asked about the hinoki cypress.  I think it looks great.  It took some time to develop because they grow fairly slow.  Hard to think it can be improved.  It's all maintenance now I think.  As for the Shohin, Inge Wolfel set up that display.  She loves shohin.  It's a combination of her trees and a another BIB member.

About half the trees were BIB trees.  There was some good variety in trees though.  I really liked that part of it all.

Sorry John, I was so busy with my workshop and the display area that I didn't get a chance of the other workshops or demos.  The one demo that I saw was Mike Hagedorn, but I was on stage helping him wire so no pics either :P.  I'll see if I can find some from somewhere.
