Finally the trees some relief
« on: July 09, 2010, 10:18 AM »
Hello All,

Glad to report that my trees are finally getting relief from the heat in St. Louis. For the next 5-6 days daytime temps are  forecasted  to be between 85-90 and we should be around 65-68 at night. It has even been raining at my benches all morning. It is the first rain in several weeks at my place and there were several showers throughout the night. I can almost hear the trees singing for joy.

We've dipped back down into the bearable range.  Forecast for the week looks like some rain is headed our way, too.  With the heat here I've been watering 3-4 times a day (misting jets on timer, plus some manual/hand watering).  Real rain, I think, does a much better job or watering and cleaning the foliage, and I suspect brings in some much needed minerals (and acidity?).
