I received this notice from Frank and thought I'd post it here. What a great deal this is going to be!

Spend the weekend immersed in bonsai.  Learn from one of the best bonsai masters in the United States while being surrounded by century old trees.  This will be a weekend with no stress, just relaxing, learning and spending time with others that love bonsai.
Things get started Friday night with snacks and a time to meet everyone.   Boon will present a demo using a tree of his choice.
Saturday will include one morning and one afternoon workshop.  Participants can furnish their own trees, purchase trees from Sonlight Nursery, or select trees from the nursery to work on.  A large selection is available.
Sunday will be a half day to work with Boon and finish incomplete projects. 
The cost for the weekend is $150; workshops are an additional $50 per session.  Sunday is no cost for those that have paid for a workshop on Saturday.   Cost includes meals and lodging at Forest Park.   Registration and fees are due no later than March 12.  Contact Frank for details regarding payment and lodging at Forest Park or for local motels.

Bonsai Retreat – Additional Information

Forest Park Accommodations
Lodging at Forest Park is reminiscent of staying at a church camp. It is very “rustic” and not for those who want a private room or are not willing to share a bathroom.  Sheets, blankets, pillow, towels, soap, etc. are provided by guests – not the park.  Cabins are dormitory style and only the one for female guests has plumbing. Those in all other cabins must share bathrooms and showers in other buildings. Only cabins with heat will be used for the March workshop.  If you are up to an adventure it is a great bargain!

Motels – Additional Expense for Participants
We have not stayed at any of these motels and did not do price comparisons. We did not list the most expensive, or the cheapest. Please read reviews and check prices for yourselves. Ramada Inn Downtown is closest to Forest Park. The others are all further west but all are still only 15-20 minutes away.  Google Maps is a good resource.

Food

Just spent a few minutes with Frank this morning to see how he is coming along for preparations for our retreat in ten days. I'll be spending next Tuesday helping him pot up more of these beauties!! I've also added some pics of the hoop houses. There will certainly be plenty to choose from!
