Bonsai in The Movies
« on: May 21, 2013, 11:19 AM »
Hi all, I just watched Blade Runner last night and noticed three bonsai; two in the office scene and one at Harrison Ford's apartment  :).  I spot them all the time; like in the most recent Dark Knight.  I'd like to know of others just for fun.  Oh, and in the captain's office on Stargate Universe.  I know many more but will leave it there for now.  Anyone?

Working Girl from 1988 is another movie that has bonsai in it.  Signourney Weaver's character has a juniper in her office.

Beverly Hills Ninja and Anger Management both were filmed at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California. There are some really nice trees on display there from what I've been told. It does seem like there have been a lot more bonsai popping up in commercials and television programs recently. It may be just in the U.S. though.

Leverage Season 3 Episode 2 has about thirty in it.  Unfortunately, they're set up inside the building....

I always thought the island seen in the lake of the Harry Potter movies near Hogwarts resembled a bonsai forest...it just looks really familiar...
