Ben Oki
« on: June 09, 2015, 04:49 PM »
Ben Oki was scheduled to make his annual appearance at the Prairie State Bonsai Society picnic / workshop this Sunday but we have been informed that he is not doing well and is unable to travel.  It did not sound good or likely that he will be doing much in bonsai now.  Please keep this great artist / teacher in mind and we should all wish him well.

Sorry to hear that.  I used to enjoy his annual appearance at the Tallahassee society"s meetings.

One of my favorite trees of all, is the hackberry of his at the Weyerhaueser exhibit.  It's stunning, wish I could see more of his work in person.  I wish him well.

This is very sad news. I hope he gets well soon. He was the first master I met.

This is not good news.  Ben is one of the original good guys.  I have met him on several occasions and respect him greatly.
