I have some Schefflera Arboricola that I am attempting bonsai with. One is just a a couple of "sticks" left over from aerial rooting, the one in the blue and white bowl had spider mites, so did the one in the smaller tan colored pot. I know very little about bonsai. Also pictured is a new purchase of 4 scheffleras in one pot. I plan to let these grow wild all summer before doing anything to them. Based on the photos, can anyone suggest anything that I should or should not be doing? I cleared the spider mite problem with soapy water. They have not returned. The new full scheffs I have them outside, laying sideways in a box with only one side receiving sunlight. The goal is to coerce the blanches to bend toward the sunlight. These scheffs are all quite short, having air layered a much larger plant so that I could have shorter trunks to start with. Any advice?
