raised root training and lifespan of Serissa Foetida
« on: October 02, 2011, 01:04 AM »
Hi,

I was curious as to how long serissa foetida bonsai trees generally last, and whether training a tree to have a raised root system affects their lifespan, and how so?

Thanks  :)

I have a Shohin that was given to me a few years ago the was started in the early 1960's.  I've seen much bigger and older ones; they were probably grown somewhere with a bit more tropical climate.  I don't think neagari styling will affect their lifespan.  No definitive answers so sorry for that.

Thanks for the reply and the new terms.  Non-definitive info is welcome, esp. from the instinct of experience.
