Interesting, are you doing a root on rock design? Or are you fusing these young trees to a piece of deadwood, making a tanuki? Either way, the size of the tree you are creating looks good, large enough to be in scale with the size of Allamanda leaves. I will be interested to see how it develops. Can't grow them up here except as an indoors for the winter tropical. I do like the flowers.

  Thanks Leo. I'm attempting a Hawaiian style dragon bonsai. It's a bonsai with a root trunk. I mixed 1/ to 1/2 inch pumice with coarse sand and very little compost. I want the roots to curl around the rocks. I have to gradually expose the roots. They should be good by next summer. Here's a pic of one but the roots of mine should be differant .
