Title: Pyracantha
Post by: SHIMA1 on September 19, 2015, 05:50 PM
Show time. This years crop on the Pyracantha. Going on 85 years. Heavy rock, I can hardly lift it.

I love how the tree clings to the rock, and the added drama of the berries is always easy to like.  Why'd you choose the blue pot?

Er..because I had it. ;)
Thanks to all for the kind words. It was just a no prep quick shot. You'd think I could have at least brushed off the lichen.

Nicely done.  Which side is your favorite front?  The branch structure wrapping around the rock looks nice.

Good question. The rock has more depth on the side with less berries. And an overhead shot would reveal the apex leaning towards the viewer. But the other side shows more "trunk." It's always something.
Wayne, not my first choice for color. What do you think?

Ahem, ahoy Wayne:"Wayne, not my first choice for color. What do you think?" In terms of color. Yes, I can be too subtle. :)

Here's a quick stab at something I'd prefer.  What are your thoughts?

I do not know if it is the colour of the image but I feel that the yellow blends in too much with the trunk.

I find the pot is slightly lost. My 5c worth.

But still a stunning tree.

I like Wayne's suggested color pot.

Maybe it's more of a cream like the rim of the pot.

Me too, Judy. I have a lot of pots but not the "right" one.
