Blueberry

I really like the trunk on this one and have always thought that Blueberry might make interesting bonsai...I appreciate your efforts with native material.  I think a smooth, glazed oval with muted colors (earthtones) would be very appropriate for this tree. Given the width of the root base, I would probably choose a wider pot than traditional guidelines might suggest.

Thanks,
John

Aren't all trees a work in progress? I know all of mine are.

Thank you Ken.
Some trees are just progressed further than others. :D  I've got a few in the boneyard that are finished. ::)

Don't we all, I try to get them in the trash as soon as possible so I don't have to look at them.

Hey John,
I've been playing with blueberrys for three or four years. Killed the ones I collected the first year, but I've found since then that they are really pretty easy. They will thrive without much root room and seem to grow continuously. Just keep them wet!

This is the first year I've defoliated any blueberry and, so far, they're bouncing back strongly.

Thanks for the suggestion on the pot. I've got to find one by next spring.

I'm just the opposite.....I throw the carcasses in a pile next to my potting area as a reminder of  'things that didn't work'
