From my experience very hard to locate unless someone is willing to part with a cutting. My impression is that it is a very under appreciated species here in the states. Its a shape I have only seen one here in the area that was a japanese import.

Chris at Telperion Farms had some last year but I think they went pretty fast.  He may have some cuttings that are maturing.

The wholesale nursery community, not the faux wholesale that lets anyone buy. I have requests in at a couple of spots, lets see what is out there

I could part with some cuttings next spring if interested Yenling.  But it sounds like John may have hooked you up already.

Hi all,

I have fallen in love with chojubai as well. I can't find any red chojubai anywhere (within the US) and have been looking for 3 years now.

Don - do you still have one, and details?
John - Can you email me info for the nursery community?

Thank you all. Looking forward to posting on trees.

Unfortunatly this is likely not Chojubai, but another variety of red flowering quince
