So I just moved to New Mexico where there is not a bonsai nursery nearby to purchase certain types of trees.  One of the trees in my dawn redwood grove bit the dust this winter, so I'd like to replace it.  Does anyone have any suggestions about where to buy some good stock trees online?

What size are you looking for?  I have 1 in a bonsai training pot and several in nursery cans.  They are all 2" trunk and larger.

Hi Don, I'm looking for one or three (depending on price) that are between .5 to 1.25 inches in nursery pots. Basically some younger, raw pre-bonsai stock.  I had one that I should have kept when I moved, but I gave it to my brother for his new house.

How tall are the ones you have that are between 2-3 inches wide?  Any pictures?  I would need to repot and change the main tree if I were to purchase any larger ones.  My lead tree in the group is just about 1.25".   Here's a picture of this tree from last summer.

Thanks Augustine!  No worries Don.  Thanks anyhow.  =)  The sizes this site have for dawn redwoods will work well.

Have you visited (http://www.giant-sequoia.com/sites/giantsequoia/cart/coast-and-dawn-redwoods)?

I've never purchased from their site, but they have alot of young trees and looks like most have been trained in containers with some lower branches.

If you buy from them, I'd be interested in hearing your experience.

Happy Hunting!

Al

They actually have an eBay store. I bought 3 dawn redwoods and was happy with the purchase and the packaging.
