Trident Maple

(1/1)

T-Town Bonsai:
I dug this trident in 1994 and it was in a pot for several years.  I decided to plant it in the ground to develop the nabari.  One summer I trimmed it heavy the temps jumped and it sun burned the trunk causing severe die back.  I had to dig it up this summer as I have moved.  The only thing I had time for this summer was to keep it trimmed.  The pot was the only one I had that it would fit in.

I really like this trunk.  Have you shown this one anywhere before?

I can see a much larger tree than the canopy shown, at least 50-75% taller than it is right now.  I know most people recommend finding the smallest tree possible (and its generally good advice), but I think this trunk is impressive enough to carry the image.

How old is it?

It kinda looks like two seedlings that fuzed years ago. Is this the case?

It does, but I didn't grow this one so I don't know for sure.
