This was a quick virt.  Basically, i rotated it ccw ~7° and removed the lower limbs and ...fleshed out the canopy

Funny, my first instinct was to rotate the tree about the same amount, but in the opposite direction, to create a bit more lean.

I get the idea that mother daughter should be shown by the mother protecting the daughter. I see the mother leaning away from the daughter here. I would shorten daughter and bring the right lower branch of the mother over the top of the daughter with the daughter leaning out from under the protection of the mother.

Hi bretts,
Thank You for your reply to my tree. I too see the top of the smaller trunk shorter in time, the tree has young undeveloped branches now so I will let it grow wild for a while. The plan is to prune back hard each Spring to develop the finer branching.
Maybe in 5 or 6 years I well have a Bonsai.
