Dawn Redwood

I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to develop the foliage of dawn redwoods.  Is it just through pinching that I'll be able to encourage more compact leaves.  Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks very much.

I am also interested in any help with these! I just picked one up from a local grower and love the looks of it, but do not have much of any idea where to go with it. Here is a photo of mine - that is a one gallon pot (for size reference).

I was at a nursery last week and they had 10-15' T x 6-8" trunks for about $330.  Very tempted lol

Pinching new growth will lead to ramification.  So I let the branched go unchecked till I get the branch thickness I want, then start pinching/pruning new growth for "           "    .
