Progression over time of a Yamadori Oak
« on: February 18, 2016, 10:55 AM »
I wrote a Diary to document the progress over time of an oak that I collected IN 2009 from an area that was about to be demolished.
I describe here all the major events that happened : larva problem, infection, dead branches that forced me to change the design several times and much more :)

Most interesting tree and project.  Am confused by 2 very different kinds of leaves.  More than one tree?  What kind of Oak and what is your location?  Was surprised by your potting mix.  All that coconut fiber is too much organic.  If available cheaply should add pumice instead and not over 20-30% organic at most.  Holds too much H2O(algae?)and these like well draining soil ;).
