The new pot shape looks good to me.  Better balance.  It will be interesting to see how the glaze comes out.  I voted for the Beech this month too  ;D

Here are the pot photos just sent to me from Chuck.  I couldn't be more pleased, and can't wait to see it in person.  Perfect glaze for fall color of beech, and I think it's going to be a great match all around.

Here it is in the new pot, I think it's Perfect.  Shape size color, good fit.  Did a bit of pruning and shaping.  In a few years this tree should be ready to show.  It does have a few branches that I'm waiting to shorten to new buds that I expect to pop this year, to get rid of the last few straight areas.

Nice tree, very natural; something that's difficult to recreate.  I'm glad you're happy with the pot!

I love the new pot and glaze. I like round pots for trees that could be viewed from more than one front. I suspect that while you may have a preferred front, this tree looks like it could be viewed from more than one front. Round is good for taking advantage of that.
